Entangled into uncharted lands, Shovel Knight face adversaries taking the form of robotic forces with the help of his new friend Cuphead. Meanwhile, Frisk wreaks havoc across their journey, pulling the Knight as well as Madeline into the fray, all of whom united with a lead that might take them back home.

Shovel Knight, Cuphead, the Knight, and Madeline cooperate with a "robot" named Charlotte, with a mission in mind of taking down a rogue in order to go home, leading them to a cybernetic metropolis. Niko joins in the chaos while the Drifter and the Beheaded clash with a powerful opponent. Meanwhile, Frisk's morality is tested as they face Springtrap.
