Seven students who have passed the extremely difficult selection test to become pararescue jumpers (commonly known as PJs/pararescue jumpers) belonging to the Aviation Rescue Group, an expert unit for saving lives, are lined up. Sawai Jin (Kamio Fuju), Fujiki Sayaka (Ishii Anna), Shirakawa Tomoki (Maeda Kentaro), Hasebe Tatsuya (Watanabe Aoto), Nishitani Randy (Keita Kusama Richard), Tokairin Yuuki (Inukai Takatake), and Kondo Mamoru (Maeda Oshiro) -- the members who passed through the narrow gate and will be training to become PJs at the Rescue Training Unit. As the seven students listen to the instruction of the training unit leader, Horikoshi Shoichi (Shishido Kai), with nervous expressions on their faces, they suddenly hear the sound of a helicopter approaching. The seven surprised students and instructors including Nishina Ren (Hamada Gaku) look up to the sky, where a rescue helicopter, a UH-60J, begins to hover.
While the students continue to challenge their limits while being pushed both physically and mentally, they finally start training in the pool. However, even Fujiki Sayaka (Ishii Anna), who has the ability to have competed in the National Athletic Meet in swimming in the past, continues to struggle. Pushed to her limit in training that simulates a harsh rescue site at sea, Sayaka is attacked by a fear of water. The more Sayaka struggles desperately to recover, the more she panics...? After completing the training, her classmate Sawai Jin (Kamio Fuju) offers her words of encouragement, but Sayaka can't hide her irritation, saying, "Don't look down on me just because I'm a woman."
As the harsh comprehensive sea training approaches, the training begins in the pool, where they patrol three air stations set up underwater while barely keeping themselves breathing. Then, Hasebe Tatsuya (Watanabe Aoto) loses consciousness as he becomes short of breath. Shirakawa Tomoki (Maeda Kentaro), who sees this, is overcome with tremendous fear... Shirakawa grew up in an orphanage and aimed to become a pararescue jumper in the hopes of becoming a hero to his fellow students at the facility. He was the top student when he passed the exam, and was relied on by the other trainees. Shirakawa pretends to be calm and behaves bravely, but he has flashbacks of the faces of Sayaka Fujiki (Anna Ishii) and Hasebe, who drowned during a previous training session, and he can't stop trembling.
Usami doesn't want to let his personal feelings get in the way of his training, so he asks his daughter Yuna (Yoshikawa Ai), who is here to cover the Air Rescue Team, to keep quiet. Unaware of this, Yuna is excited to accompany the students on the mountaineering training! She tells Sawai that she will "follow you to the end." Finally, the day of the mountaineering training arrived, and in the harsh conditions of only being able to drink 2 liters of water for two days, the training is a life-risking training in which the students search the mountains with 30 kg of luggage and retrieve the person in need of rescue by helicopter. Usami appoints Kondo Mamoru (Maeda Oshiro) as the leader in charge of selecting the search course and setting the pace for the team. When the training begins, Kondo's experience as a member of the mountaineering club in university comes in handy
They were relieved that they were able to get through the harsh training with their strong bond while supporting the injured Shirakawa Tomoki (Maeda Kentaro), the unwell Tokairin Yuuki (Inukai Takato), and the unconscious Fujiki Sayaka (Ishii Anna), who was unable to walk on her own. However, that night, the instructor Usami Seiji (Uchino Masaaki) said, "Fujiki Sayaka, 3rd Class Airman. You've done well so far, but this is as far as you can go." The seven were shocked by his words. However, they were given a chance to take on the same training again, and the students re-energized, saying, "Let's do it together again!" Meanwhile, Sayaka, who was looking gloomy, confided to Usami that she had no confidence. Still unable to fall asleep, Sayaka sneaks out of the tent and stumbles along the dark mountain path...!?
Dispatch! A large-scale disaster has occurred! Save the lives of those left behind! / Fujiki Sayaka (Ishii Anna), a student aiming to become a rescuer (commonly known as PJ/pararescue jumper), voluntarily declines to take the rescuer course. Then, there are accusations that Sayaka quit because her instructor Usami Seiji (Uchino Masaaki) pushed her to the brink, and training unit leader Horikoshi Shoichi (Shishido Kai) tells Usami to suspend his participation. Oyama Junichi (Mashima Hidekazu) is put in charge of the training, but the students are shocked by Usami's absence and are unable to concentrate... Among the students, Hasebe Tatsuya (Watanabe Aoto), who especially respects Usami, begins to think that if he asks his father, a senior officer in the Self-Defense Forces, he may be able to cancel his suspension, but...!?
Tatsuya Hasebe, a student aiming to become a pararescue jumper, confesses that he made a false accusation about the power harassment allegations against his instructor, Seiji Usami, which has developed into a major issue. Usami is released from self-restraint and can return to training, and the morale of the students rises. However, Hasebe has begun to think about something during this series of turmoil...!? Meanwhile, an emergency call comes in saying that Ren Nishina (Gaku Hamada), who was dispatched to an area affected by a large-scale disaster caused by a linear precipitation band, has been caught in a slope collapse and is missing. While the instructors are shocked, Usami, who was fond of Nishina and was the first student he was in charge of after becoming an instructor, strongly believes in his survival and acts bravely. Nishina's wife, Mei , who received a call from the training unit commander, Horikoshi Shoichi, also continues to wait prayerfully for her husband to return.
The truth of 12 years ago.. The soulful rescue that connects instructor and student!! Sawai Jin, a student aiming to become a rescuer, is shocked to learn that his instructor Usami Seiji was the rescuer who saved him when he was lost in a snowy mountain 12 years ago... He asks Usami to tell him the details of what happened at the time. Usami then quietly begins to talk about the time he found his father, Uesugi Kozo, lying on the ground after he had put Sawai in the rescue helicopter UH-60J. Sawai continues to regret that his father lost his life because of his selfish actions, while Usami has repeatedly asked himself why he couldn't save Uesugi and whether his judgment was correct. Now that they are an instructor and a student aiming to become a rescuer, the two are finally able to talk about that day, but...!?
